Pixel Picks. IX

Pixel Picks – weekly(ish) links from around the web: interviews, articles, essays, poetry, fiction and non.
This week’s picks feature witches, teenagers, alone time, and Patti Smith (sound like the inspiration behind a Lorde song to me).

Enjoy.

Sometimes, I just want everyone to leave me alone: inspired by a TED talk, Quiet Revolution is an online community for introverts, those who like solitude, and appreciate the pockets of silence that can be found in a busy life.

Hysterical teenage witch: a Vanity Fair interview with the teen queen Tavi Gevinson, about the new Rookie yearbook (currently waiting for me behind the counter at my local bookstore – picking it up tonight!) and being cast in The Crucible.

Even more witches: I’ve been reading a lot (so much that it’s starting to blur) of fantasy featuring sassy witches. Witches of America is a look into the history of witchcraft and the occult; this interview with the author is a good read.

Patti Smith is writing a YA novel: nuff said.
